The Lord is our strength and our song

            and has become our salvation.

God’s people are singing a new song.

The right hand of the Lord has triumphed!

The right hand of the Lord is exalted!

We shall not die, but live,

           and declare God’s mighty deeds.

     PRAYER OF THE DAY

   * HYMN               Jesus Christ Is Risen Today – Red Hymnal 204

     PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Unison)

         God of power and might,

we stand before the empty tomb with awe,

pondering a love that is stronger even than death.

Can that love save us? Can it forgive our sins and heal

our hearts? Can it really be so?

It’s a day of new beginnings, so we pray that,

by Your Spirit, we might start afresh.

We pray in the name of Jesus,

who is raised from the dead, defeating sin,

once and for all, for all and even for us.

       Amen.

    DECLARATION OF FORGIVENESS

Pastor: In Jesus our sins are forgiven. In Jesus our cries are

answered, our salvation is at hand. Christ the Lord is risen!
