    ANNOUNCEMENTS

    CHORAL INTROIT                            Kind Maker of the World

Kind Maker of the world, O hear the fervent prayer, with many a tear

poured forth by all the penitent who keep this holy fast of Lent!

    CALL TO WORSHIP (Responsively) (Psalm 91)

       Come to the One who knows our every need.

       God, do you really know everything?

      Come to the One who hears our every wish.

      God, are you really listening?

      Come to the One who sees all.

      God, are you really watching over us?

      Come to the One who loves us more than we can ever know.

      God, we come to worship the one who knows, hears, and

          sees our every need and still loves us.

     PRAYER OF THE DAY

    * HYMN                                  Great Is Thy Faithfulness – Blue Hymnal 276

    PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Unison)

      Loving God,

     You have formed a covenant with us,

        committing Yourself to us

        and inviting us to walk with You.

    Yet we have resisted,

        preferring to go in different ways,

        seeking other companions,

        thinking we know best.

    Have mercy on our waywardness,

       stir us to accept what You have to offer,

       gift us with faith so that we can hold the hand

      You have extended

       to us in Jesus Christ. Amen.

    DECLARATION OF FORGIVENESS

       Pastor: When God is with us, whom shall we fear? The God

       of salvation will never forsake you. God’s patience knows no

       limits. Wait for the Lord. Be strong and take heart.

       People: Amen!

    * GLORY BE TO THE FATHER

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;

as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,

world without end. Amen. Amen.

     * PASSING OF THE PEACE

            Pastor: The Peace of Christ be with you.

            People: And also with you.

        I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth;

        and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by

        the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius

        Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into Hell;

        the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into

        heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

        from thence He shall come to  judge the quick and the dead.

        I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the

        communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the

        body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
